Dr. Wisniski was the best! My friend had a serious issue while we were visiting here. It was a blessing in disguise as I believe his condition was improperly diagnosed previously. Lydia the RN was great as well as all the staff. Food was amazing for a hospital. Dr. T in the ER was great. I can't believe how lucky Pagosa is to have this wonderful facility with great medical care.

I'm an RN and had to go into the ER for respiratory difficulties. Dr Robert Halterman took care of me and I can't remember the name of the knowledgeable RN that was so kind. All I know is she was from California . True professional team. Unbelievable. Even the X-ray tech was great.I will never forget this place. I actually thought I was dying. I walked out feeling so much better. I feel great this morning. Pagosa Springs is so lucky to have these wonderful people as employees. Bless them all!!!!!
I am surprised that there are any negative reports due to the attention and expertise that I recently experienced. Dr. Halterman was thorough, honest, and sympathetic. All of the staff were comforting and professional with humor thrown in. Thank you for making the experience pleasant even down to dealing with my computer problem.
Beautiful building, but beurocratic rot on the inside. I have never had such poor basic service. I grew up in hospitals. I have worked in 8 different hospitals in my career. I started as an audiovisual geek, then security guard, and eventually went into a medical career myself. I am now a specialty physician. We just needed a simple ankle x-ray and already had the order sent over. It should have been payment, x-ray, and out the door in less than 15 minutes. An hour and 20 minutes later we were still getting static from the front desk. Sadly, I have seen faster service in 2 different VA facilities. The front desk was inept and rude. This is not just a look down on the little people doctor gripe. I started in lesser positions in the hospital and worked my way up. I know what it is like to be in the minute to minute care of patients/clients. Today's service was an embarrassing fail of basic minimal service. I understand if you are stuck there and need immediate care, but if possible I recommend travelling somewhere else if you can.
